Don Watson Transport is a leading refrigerated logistics company offering a diverse range of transport and refrigerated storage solutions. We are looking for a new Diesel Mechanic to join the team and support the servicing and repairs of our national fleet based in Derrimut.
$110,000 per year (includes Meal Allowances and Leave Loading) additional to this is Saturday Overtime, On-Call Allowances, Breakdown call outs and Superannuation PLUS fully maintained company Ute and tool allowance if you bring your own tools.
The hours of work are Monday to Friday 6:30am to 4:30pm. Plus working 1 in 3 Saturdays (Saturday shifts are 5.5 hours and paid in addition of the salary amount).
Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Have a trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanics
- Have a minimum of 12 months mechanical experience within the heavy vehicle industry
- Attention to detail and excellent workmanship
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
- Reliable, honest and have a great work ethic
- Current HC drivers licence (desirable)
This is a permanent full-time position, and only those with the right to work in Australia should apply.
About the position:
Working with our team of mechanics and apprentices you will service our fleet of prime movers, refrigerated trailers and rigid vehicles.
- Performing repairs, maintenance and servicing to ensure our fleet operates at the highest level.
- Diagnosing faults and issues as well as applying the correct fixes
- Inspect equipment to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with Safety and Manufacturer standards.
- Collaborate with team members
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Participate in breakdowns if required
- Document all repairs
- Laundered overalls provided
